Hi everyone! I missed sending out a message on World Menopause Day, but that's okay because it's actually Menopause Awareness Month. Around 2 million women in the United States will reach menopause this year. Additionally, There are millions of women who are in perimenopause and maybe don't even know it. I have two community circles coming up about the middle essence journey. Doesn't middle essence journey sound so much better than menopause? I've called these free community circles "What is happening?!" because that's how it can feel... what is happening to my body, mind and spirit? I hope you can join one or both of these. Registration is free and these are open to people who were assigned female at birth. If you have a male partner that is interested in learning more about what is happening, let me know! I might host a short session for males to help them understand what changes women experience in their middle essence. Have you heard of The M Factor? It is now streaming on PBS.org and available on local stations. The M Factor is a documentary about menopause, and it is AMAZING. I was lucky enough to see the film in the company of about another 400 women (and a few men) in Bellingham, Washington, at an event hosted by Dr. Kelly Casperson. She is one of the leading voices in menopause medicine and one of the doctors featured in the film. During the Q & A following the film, Dr. Casperson answered lots of questions from women about all things menopause, including one from me! It was really wonderful to be able to ask about topical estrogen and receive such a thoughtful, honest reply. Maybe you're wondering why a hypnotist is focused on working with women in menopause... it seems an odd mix, right? The middle essence journey is my lived experience right now and I have used hypnosis for everything from working on my sleep to easily transitioning to intermittent fasting to help with my blood sugar levels and more. I look forward to sharing about what I've been learning in these two conversations in the next week and hearing from you about your middle essence journey. And there will be much more to come in 2025! Please share the link with any women in your life you think might benefit. It's never too early to start talking about perimenopause, menopause and the middle essence journey. with care, Alex ✨middle essence journey companion✨ web: alexmitchellhypnosis.com Did you know that you can manage your preferences for what type of emails you receive from me? Hello everyone! I'm still buzzing from our conversation with death doula and NYTimes Bestselling Author Alua Arthur last week in the Elevate with the Collective Speaker Series. If you missed seeing her live, you can still sign up to receive the replay when it is released later this week. It was an amazing evening. COMING UP: "What is happening?!?!" is at the end of the month. This is an intro to this time in women's lives when we're either entering perimenopause (It starts earlier than you...
The first time I heard Alua say "thank you so much for giving me a minute of your life to think about the end of it" my life changed. We all have those moments, right? Those moments in our lives that change our path, nudge us a different way, allow us to see from a new perspective. Hearing her was one of those moments for me. I don't exactly remember how I found Alua. I do know that it was on Instagram and it was years ago, somewhere in that pandemic altered state we were all in. Remember...
We are excited to welcome Alua Arthur, death doula and NY Times Bestselling Author of Briefly Perfectly Human to the Elevate with the Collective community. Alua is the founder of Going with Grace, created to relieve the burden of dying without proper end of life support. Alua and her team support people as they answer the question "What must I do to be at peace with myself so that I may live presently and die gracefully?" and support family members through and beyond their loved one's death....
